Generative AI is a rapidly growing and changing field, so the citation recommendations can be a challenge to track down. The most important thing as a student is that you should only use Generative AI tools if given permission by your professor.
Artificial Intelligence cannot be considered an author, and if Generative AI tool is used, the way it was used needs to be explained in the paper, usually in the methods or acknowledgement sections.
