Reference Questions

In response to electronic inquiries from students and faculty, the reference staff can answer brief, factual questions, recommend search strategies and resources, explain Library policies, and offer instruction in the use of resources.

Research Consultations

Requests for research consultations can now be submitted online, as well as in person. A research consultation provides the individual student or faculty person to meet with a reference librarian to discuss library resources for an assignment, term paper, or course project. The reference librarian can also arrange a class presentation or workshop on a variety of library-related topics including: copyright laws, credible web sources, using electronic databases, and other topics.
